On March 19, 2022, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette highlighted the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine of WT Emeritus Trustee Henry Posner III and his global railroad investment firm, RDC.

Posner was in Europe on business when RDC Deutschland—the German arm of RDC—was contracted by the German government to run a daily train for Ukrainian war refugees. Acknowledging that this would be the most precious cargo the company would ever carry, Posner altered his plans so that he could be of service on one of the early trips.

As passengers consumed hot drinks and boxed lunches prepared by German aid workers, Posner—who speaks four languages, including Russian—joined RDC staff to build trust, ensure calm, and create a haven of security and safety for the refugees.

“It’s a matter of great company pride that we were able to play a role here,” Posner reflected.
